Ever since I first saw Crossroads when I was a kid, I thought the Pignose 7-100 amplifier was pretty cool and wanted one (along with a Fender Telecaster). I*m not sure why I never bought one since they aren*t exactly cost prohibitive. When I first tried to learn guitar when I was younger we didn*t have the internet (wow, I just felt really old saying that) so it wasn*t like I could go on ebay to find one. My gear selection was limited to the three guitar shops in town and none of them had the Pignose. Well here I am (many) years later and taking up the guitar again and the Pignose 7-100 popped back into my mind and I picked one up.

The folks over at Gibson are apparently going to make a Jimi Hendrix signature model guitar. I find this a bit curious. While yes it is true he did play a Gibson Flying V on occasion, I think we all know Jimi*s main guitar was a Fender Stratocaster. If they were to do a Jimi Hendrix Flying V, that would be cool, but from the sound of the article that*s not what this is going to be. These guitars are ※inspired by§ Jimi Hendrix.

Here are some pictures of my Gibson Custom Shop ES-175SP. I wrote about the guitar previously and talked about how it*s a unique ES-175. Unlike most Gibson ES-175*s, this one only has one pickup. The finish on this model is a custom finish and not like other ES-175 sunbursts as well.

Well, I doubt I need to mention it, but today is a sad day due to the passing of Les Paul. I recently watched the Les Paul documentary Les Paul: Chasing Sound and I was absolutely amazed by what he had accomplished musically and technologically. I remember when I was a kid I use to think ※why is there a guitar named after Les Paul# who the hell is he?§ Of course at the time Def Leppard*s Phil Collen was my idol and if you didn*t have big hair you didn*t exist. But take one look at this documentary and you*ll see why not only was a guitar named after him, the greatest guitar ever made was named after him (there*s a reason I chose a Les Paul for my logo at the top of the page).
